 Scanner
 Top
I am currently using some strange unknown kind of scanner (mostly because it was about all I could afford). It works just fine though. The quality and color is good and there's no major problems with it (except that it's really slow, especially at high resolutions).
 Colors
 Top
My scanner currently uses 30-Bit color (1,073,741,823 colors) and 16-Bit Grayscale (65535 shades of gray), but I can easily change to 8-Bit, 16-Bit, or 24-Bit Color or 1-Bit or 8-Bit Grayscale.
Also, I can use either CYMK color, or RGB color, depending on your specifications.
 Resolution
 Top
The scanner I am using at the moment supports 100-7200 DPI, however, higher resolutions require higher prices, since at 7200 DPI it takes almost 45 minutes to scan a simple color photograph. If you wish to print your pictures at a later date, tell me what kind of printer you have, and I can tell you the suggested resolution to use.
 Originals and Copies
 Top
For a nominal fee, I can send back the originals (with the scanned copies if desired) through snail-mail. The nominal fee I ask for this is simply to offset the cost of postage, and can be eliminated if you send a self-addressed stamped envelope along with the originals. If you do not wish to have the originals back, I can keep them on file free of charge on request, in case you have any problems with the scanned images.
 Optical Character Recognition
 Top
Optical Character Recognition software is used to convert printed text to a format which the computer can use, and allows a person to edit text without typing it all. I can return the text generated by the OCR software in several formats, such as Microsoft Word (including Word97), WordPerfect 7, Rich Text Format (RTF) and plain text.
